If the TDS is too high, it indicates that the water has many impurities and the pure water quality is low, which cannot meet the needs of the project.


1. TDS measurement method:

General end customers or distributors are accustomed to testing TDS directly from the faucet, this method may cause errors. The correct measurement method is: disconnect the pressure barrel from the rear, and let the machine maintain the normal water production state for about 10 minutes (the time for the newly installed machine to be discharged will be extended by about one hour), and then take water from the pure water outlet of the reverse osmosis membrane shell. Detection. TDS testing pen has become one of our commonly used water quality testing tools. 2. Reasons affecting the high TDS value:

(1) There is an infiltration process when the RO membrane is first watered. During this period, a small amount of residual substances in the production of membrane materials will be dissolved in the water and washed out. If a wet membrane is used, the preservative inside the membrane will also be dissolved in the water and washed out. , This process generally takes 1-2 hours, and the TDS, which is externally expressed as pure water, is gradually decreasing.


(2) A small amount of carbon powder and inorganic minerals in the rear activated carbon will be washed out when the water is passed for the first time, resulting in a high TDS. The solution is to fill the pressure tank with water when the first water is made. Then turn on and off the pure water faucet several times to allow the pure water to flush out the impurities in the activated carbon filter element. This process takes about 1 hour.


Third, the solution to the high TDS value

The TDS value of water quality in our country, especially in the northern regions, is generally high. The national municipal tap water is generally around 250. In some areas, the TDS value of tap water and rivers and lakes is as high as 500 or 600, and individual groundwater reaches more than 1,000. And if the source water quality TDS value is too high, it is recommended to add a pre-protection before using the RO pure water equipment.


At the same time, for the problem that the TDS value of RO Pure Water Equipment cannot be reduced, the following aspects also need to be checked:

(1) First check the TDS value of the raw water, the general RO membrane desalination rate is 90%;

(2) If it is a newly replaced reverse osmosis membrane that needs to run for 20 minutes, then measure;

(3) Confirm whether the pure water storage time in the water storage bucket is too long;

(4) If the rear activated carbon is newly replaced, it also needs to be flushed;

(5) When measuring pure water quality, please measure from the reverse osmosis membrane pure water port;

(6) After eliminating the above reasons, you can consider replacing the RO reverse osmosis membrane.
